LSU Museum of Art
Perhaps this is the top attraction in Baton Rouge, but not everyone knows why. The ceilings are 15 feet high in this museum, therefore contemporary artists can display art of basically any size they want. The type of media used to create art is also not an issue.

Louisiana’s Old State Capitol
This historic building housed the Louisiana State Legislature for about 80 years starting the mid 19th century. This Gothic building is on the National Register of Historic Places and it’s current name is Museum of Political History, though it is known by other names as well.

LSU Tiger Stadium
One of the reasons you’ll want to go see this stadium is because it is the 9th largest in the world. People nicknamed this stadium “Death Valley” and this is where you will also find the LSU Strength and Conditioning Facility.

Mike the Tiger Habitat
Most people in Louisiana want to see Mike the Tiger, the official mascot of Louisiana State University. While Mike I had a pretty small and simple enclosure, the current mascot enjoys a much bigger and better equipped habitat.

LSU Rural Life Museum
This museum is opened daily and associated with several school and universities. It gives a glimpse into the lives of those living in rural Louisiana between the 18th and 19th centuries. There are 30 historic buildings and a great variety of artifacts and exhibits to check out.

USS Kidd
This destroyer was launched in 1943 and used both in the World War II and the Korean War. It currently serves as a memorial for those who fought during the World War II and were from Louisiana. USS Kidd is also known as the “Pirate of the Pacific.”

Louisiana State Capitol
If you went to see the Old Capitol building you should probably see the new one as well. It is the tallest of its kind in USA and in the City of Baton Rouge. It is 450 feet tall and totals 43 stories.

Downtown Baton Rouge
This is the place to go to for a date, free concert, various shows in spring and fall, or even for gambling. If you’re getting hungry you have many restaurants and cuisines to choose from as well.
